Rowan A Bodhi: It was late when she appeared in the tent. Though she was doubtful of any merchants still being around, she found it difficult to sleep anywhere but at home.
Rowan Bodhi: Rowan had arrived, finally. He'd wanted to arrive earlier to help set up but duty had prevented such. As was his habit, one of the first places he would check, would be the merchant tent. After all, how else was one going to spend an obscene amount of coin, unless it was amongst the slave pens. Rowan however was not in the market for such. As he stepped into the tent, his eyes took in what goods were still on display. Most were shrouded for the night. Idly he wondered if the merchants left a slave to sleep with the goods to make sure they weren't stolen.
Rowan A Bodhi: One foot in front of the other, she moved with a pace and gaze of disregard for everything, the countenance of a woman that had done most everything and was left bored. Heavy rich robes keeping her shrouded and layers of veils maintaining her modesty, only blue eyes were visible to anyone, blue eyes and golden spun hair that was currently swept back in a prim knot. With the reach of gloved hand, she glided fingertips along a table in passing but it was just an idle gesture, she barely noticed anything on the table. Must not have been much of a shopper.
Rowan Bodhi: The other browser was noted, a nod and a smile given, "Lady," before he paused near one stand that held a variety of blades. They weren't Creedy's, but they were interesting, none the less. Soon he struck up conversation with the merchant.
Rowan A Bodhi: Little to do in the tent this time of night with darkness swollen over the fair grounds, she turned, the many layers of rich red robes did their lazy swish. Cobalt gaze on the hunt, she'd hoped that if nothing else, she'd see the man from Schendi; the one that peddled spices. That man had probably long since packed it up and called it a day. When another one greeted her, she looked his way, a smile briefly lifting her cheeks behind the veils. "Sir."
Rowan Bodhi: His conversation with the blade merchant soon waned and then he was off to check another still open, but they were few and far between. He looked to the woman once more. "Seems we're a bit late. Perhaps tomorrow we would have better luck."
Rowan A Bodhi: "Perhaps." She gently lowered her chin just a fraction in nodding agreement. "There is one man, from Schendi I believe. He sells spices and bricks of chocolate, that sort of thing." She glanced around then, golden lashes in lazy blink and lapis gaze once more on the hunt. Spoiled. As if she expected or hoped the man who peddled those divine things would suddenly appear.
Rowan Bodhi: Rowan regarded the girl a moment, then nodded. "I have seen him about, on previous trips. Can't recall the fellow's name, but he does have excellent wares." Rowan himself looked around. He wasn't ready to head back to camp, nor was he really interested in the sparse wares that were still on display at this ahn. If NJ were at his side, they'd be drinking heavily by now.
Rowan A Bodhi: Drinking heavily was an excellent way to pass the time at these little fairs. Neutral smile given when he commented on the spice peddler, she again nodded faintly in agreement. Supposedly the other thing people did at these fairs was play nice, meet people of other gated cities, and introduce themselves. "Rowan."
Shea Blackthorn: ::Shea had been exploring the fairgrounds and slipped into the tent, glancing around::
Rowan Bodhi: He gave a double take as the girl spoke his name. "Yes?" Damned veils, how was a man supposed to know if he'd met a woman before?
Rowan A Bodhi: She was by no means ill mannered, except perhaps on days that ended with Y, but she may have glanced at him a little oddly when he answered like that. Amusement, however brief, emerged in cobalt eyes. "My name is Rowan, Sir."
Shea Blackthorn: ::she stepped inside further and wandered by the stalls::
Rowan Bodhi: He broke into a grin, and then nodded. "Ah. Please forgive my confusion. I am Rowan as well." He offered his hand out for hers, a slight bow given as he did so.
Shea Blackthorn: ::she glanced curiously at the like named people::
Rowan A Bodhi: That cleared it up then, and she grinned as well, mouth lifting in the corners though her veils concealed it. Slender gloved hand tucked delicately to his, she graciously lowered her head to him and while her manner was formal,
Rowan A Bodhi: stiff even, it seemed to come naturally and easily for her.
Rowan Bodhi: He lifted her hand, though he didn't go so far as to brush his lips to it. First meeting and all. When he straightened he allowed her the luxury of deciding when to pull her hand back. "It is a pleasure to meet you." The woman who entered was given a smile and a nod, before he looked back at the woman who bore his name. "Perhaps on the morrow you will be able to find your spice merchant."
Rowan A Bodhi: She was neither hasty nor lingering in regard to when she gently removed her hand, not fast enough to appear meek and not slow enough to appear promiscuous. With the prowl of cobalt gaze, she spotted the woman coming in. Gently she nodded to her as well before her attention went back to the man with her name. "Perhaps. It was nice meeting you as well Sir but I need to find my guard before he gests testy, and then find my furs."
Shea Blackthorn: ::she turned back to the stalls and wandered about::
Rowan Bodhi: Rowan watched as Rowan departed, then he too went about browsing once more. He really needed to find Niros and get drunk. It was well past time for such.
Rowan A Bodhi: A smile given to the others, she headed on her way, off to meet up with her guard who could be a little to the right of testy.
